Weather & Visibility
High risk — Deep winter with cold wind off Lake Ontario and possible snow; dress heavily. Fireworks are high-altitude and generally visible harbour-wide when skies are clear.
Safety & Crowds
Correction to common listings: the fireworks are on the WATERFRONT, not Nathan Phillips Square. Cold exposure and lakeside wind are the main hazards. Road closures around Queens Quay W., York St. and Bay St. run ~6 PM (10 PM tightened) to 1 AM.
Getting There
TTC, GO Transit and UP Express are FREE from 7 PM (Dec 31) to 8 AM (Jan 1). Subway runs until ~3 AM. Driving downtown is discouraged - closures and no parking.
New Year's Day (Jan 1)
TTC returns to normal Jan 1; most attractions keep holiday hours. Waterfront is quiet and cold the morning after.
