Confirmed — The 2026 Bastille Day programme for Nice has been officially announced.
Drone Show · 22:00 local · Europe/Paris
No fireworks in Nice for Bastille Day 2026 — this is not the standard celebratory show. July 14, 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of the 2016 Promenade des Anglais truck attack (86 killed, 458 injured), and the city has replaced fireworks with a solemn memorial program: military parade (09:00), official commemoration ceremony with President Macron (18:00), a philharmonic concert (20:30), a 2,016-drone display on the Promenade des Anglais (22:00, symbolic of the year of the attack), and the illumination of 86 light beams at 22:34 — the exact time the attack began. Given the honesty rules for anchor verification, this record is classified as 'drone' rather than 'fireworks,' and the event should be understood as commemorative, not festive.

⚠️ This is a memorial event tied to a mass-casualty attack — expect heightened security, restricted access, and a somber tone rather than a party atmosphere.
