High crowd · Arrive by 7:00 PM · landmark · Free
Reston's traditional fireworks happen at the Reston Row plaza (1800 Reston Row Plaza) on Thursday, JULY 2, 2026 — a free 'Celebrating America's 250' party with Bruce in the USA (Springsteen tribute), splash pad, food and a live fireworks finale at 9:15 PM (kickoff 5:30 PM). Directly next to the Wiehle-Reston East Metro (Silver Line) — easiest car-free option. Arrive by 7 PM for a lawn spot near LOVE Park. Show type: fireworks.
Lake Anne Plaza
Medium crowd · Arrive by 8:00 PM · waterfront · Free
Robert Simon's original 1960s lakeside plaza (1609 Washington Plaza) is a scenic, lower-key waterfront gathering spot on Lake Anne, ~1 mi from the Lake Fairfax drone show, with open lake sky and Wednesday Sunset Concerts as a warm-up. No on-site garage; use Lake Anne surface lots and arrive by 8 PM. Primary shows are at Lake Fairfax (drone, June 27) and Reston Row (fireworks, July 2). Show type: drone.
Archer Hotel Reston (high-floor rooms near Reston Row)
Low crowd · hotel room · Paid
This boutique hotel sits within the Reston Station/Reston Row district steps from the July 2 fireworks launch and the Wiehle-Reston East Metro (Silver Line). Request a high-floor room facing the Reston Row plaza for an in-room view of the 9:15 PM fireworks; orientation is not guaranteed at booking, so call to flag a high-floor plaza-facing request. Garage parking on-site; book 1–2 months ahead. Show type: fireworks.

The 4-diamond Hyatt at 1800 Presidents St is in the heart of Reston Town Center; request a high floor facing east toward Reston Station/Reston Row for a distant view of the July 2 fireworks. Forest Edge Elementary School hill
Low crowd · Arrive by 8:00 PM · elevated · Free
Local insiders use the hill by Forest Edge Elementary (1501 Becontree Ln) as an elevated, lower-crowd vantage toward Lake Fairfax Park when the main lot fills — its rise clears the tree line for the June 27 drone show over the lake to the northeast. Limited residential street parking; arrive by 8 PM and be respectful of school grounds and neighbors. Show type: drone.
Reston Town Center Pavilion
Medium crowd · landmark · Free
The open-air Pavilion at Market Street is Reston's central gathering plaza; note that organizers gave July 4 night OFF in 2026 (no Town Center concert) for America's 250th, so this is a dining/staging base near the Hyatt rather than a launch site. Pair it with the July 2 Reston Row fireworks a mile east or the June 27 Lake Fairfax drone show. Adjacent paid garages; Silver Line Metro nearby. Show type: mixed.
Sheraton Reston Hotel (upper-floor rooms)
