Oak Point Park & Nature Preserve (launch site)
High crowd · Arrive by 5:30 PM · park · Free
Launch site for Plano's All American 4th — fireworks ~9:30 PM, event 6–10 PM. Face the open prairie/sky over the preserve for a wide aerial view. NOTE: event entry and parking are staged at Collin College Spring Creek campus nearby, not at the park itself — follow official signage. 1,042 acres of open sky means minimal overhead obstruction, but creek-side trees block low-burst shells near the water edge. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Sightline: Vast open sky over the nature preserve with minimal overhead obstruction. Creek-side tree lines block low shells along the eastern perimeter — pick the high open lawn for cleanest sightlines. High aerial bursts are clear from anywhere in the main open areas.
⚠️ Event entry/parking is NOT at the park entrance — it's staged at Collin College Spring Creek campus. Ignore GPS routing to the park itself; follow the official Plano event signage or you'll end up at a closed gate.
Collin College Spring Creek Campus (official event hub & parking)
High crowd · Arrive by 5:00 PM · elevated · Free
Primary free parking and event grounds at 2800 E. Spring Creek Pkwy — this is where you actually access the show. Face west/southwest toward the Oak Point launch; upper decks of the parking garages give an elevation edge over tree cover. Arrive by 5 PM — lots fill early and Plano PD closes inbound streets once capacity is reached. Fireworks simulcast on 97.5 KLAK. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Sightline: Parking-garage upper decks provide elevated sightlines over the tree cover that blocks lower-level views. Ground-level positions have partial tree obstruction between the campus and the Oak Point launch. Elevation is key here — garage rooftop or upper deck beats the lawn.
⚠️ Plano PD closes inbound streets once the lots fill — arriving after 6 PM risks being turned away. Streets surrounding the venue back up severely post-show; plan 30–45 extra minutes to exit.
Oak Point Recreation Center lot
Medium crowd · Arrive by 6:00 PM · park · Free
Secondary official parking at 6000 Jupiter Rd, within the 1–2 mile viewing radius southwest of the launch. Face northeast toward the Oak Point launch site; stand on the lot's north edge for the best angle over the Rowlett Creek tree line. Arrive by 6 PM. Free. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Sightline: Rowlett Creek tree line creates partial obstruction — north edge of the lot is significantly better than the south side. High aerial bursts are clear from the north edge; lower shells are clipped by the tree canopy.
⚠️ Parking here puts you further from the primary event atmosphere at Collin College. Good if you want a quieter perimeter spot but you'll miss the simulcast and vendor area.
Plano Event Center overflow lot
Medium crowd · Arrive by 6:00 PM · park · Free
Official overflow parking at 2000 E. Spring Creek Pkwy, ~1 mi west of the Oak Point launch. Face east toward Oak Point; low-rise sightlines are decent but Spring Creek itself and its tree border clip the bottom of the show — only high aerial bursts come over clearly. Arrive 6 PM. Free. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Sightline: Spring Creek and its tree line sit between this lot and the launch site — lower shells are blocked, but the top ~60% of the aerial show is clearly visible. Not as good as the Collin College garage decks but a solid free backup.
⚠️ Spring Creek tree buffer means you lose the ground-level and low-altitude effects. Position on the east edge of the lot toward the creek for the best elevation over the obstruction.
Home2 Suites by Hilton North Plano (US-75) — base hotel
Low crowd · Arrive by 5:00 PM · hotel room · Paid
HONEST NOTE: no Plano hotel faces the Oak Point launch — it's a 1,000+ acre preserve with no adjacent lodging, so no room view is guaranteed anywhere in the city. This hotel (~2–3 mi west off US-75, free breakfast) is best used as a sleep-and-park base: drive or rideshare to Collin College by 5 PM. Upper-floor east-facing rooms might catch the highest finale bursts above the tree line, but do not count on it. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Sightline: No Plano hotel has a meaningful sightline to the Oak Point launch — the preserve's open land has no adjacent accommodation. This hotel is 2–3 mi west; only the very top of the finale bursts might be visible from high east-facing floors. Do not book this hotel expecting a fireworks view.
⚠️ There is no 'fireworks view hotel' option in Plano. Commit to the event venue at Collin College for the actual show — this is purely a sleep/logistics base.
⚠️ No confirmed launch site for this city. Viewing spots shown are approximate.
