Umbrella Beach (Kirk Park Beach)
High crowd · Arrive by 9:00 PM · park · Free
The launch beach itself — get there well before dark to claim sand and, more importantly, to avoid the traffic jam coming into town that hits right before the 9 p.m. start. Bring a blanket and lay back; views are best from right on the beach. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Downtown Montauk oceanside beaches
Medium crowd · park · Free
Fireworks are 'best viewed from any town location' along the downtown ocean beaches, so you don't need to be at Umbrella Beach proper. Take the LIRR Montauk Branch into the village and walk to the sand — far smarter than driving Montauk Highway on July 4 weekend. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Hither Hills State Park
Low crowd · park · Free
Two miles west of the village, this oceanfront park is a calmer family base — its protected freshwater Hither Hills Pond is a safer swim than the open surf during the day, and you avoid the densest downtown crowds while still on the Atlantic shore. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
