High crowd · paid event · Paid
Dearborn's premier Independence show: 'Salute to America' July 2-5, 2026, 5:00-10:00 PM, with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra taking the Village Green stage at 8:30 PM for Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture, live cannon fire and a fireworks finale launched within the Village. Ford Field Park (Dearborn Homecoming)
High crowd · park · Free
Dearborn's second free fireworks window: the 45th Dearborn Homecoming Festival (over 30,000 visitors in 2025), Aug 7-9, 2026 at Ford Field Park near Michigan Ave & Brady St. Per the official FAQ, 'Fireworks will take place on Saturday and Sunday evening at approximately 10:00 PM.' On the festival grounds you are at the launch; face the open festival field. Flat terrain means perimeter trees are the only obstruction - set up on open lawn away from the tree line. Free admission. Arrive by 8:30 PM; shuttle drop-off/pickup is on the park's south side near the parking and carnival. Note this is AUGUST, not July 4. Show type: fireworks.
Henry Ford College / open ground NW of Greenfield Village
Medium crowd · landmark · Free
Free outside-the-gate alternative for the July 2-5 Salute to America finale: the open college/parking areas northwest of Greenfield Village can catch the high aerial shells (the finale launch is elevated for visibility from outside the Village). Face SOUTHEAST toward the Village Green. Obstruction is the mature tree line ringing the 80-acre Village - get to the most open lot edge. You will NOT see the orchestra or low/ground effects, only the high bursts that follow the 8:30 PM DSO performance. Free; arrive ~9:00 PM. Show type: mixed.
Closest hotel to Greenfield Village (20301 Oakwood Blvd, ~0.5 mi south of the Village Green). Request a high-floor room facing NORTH toward the Village. CAVEAT: the historic Albert Kahn-designed inn is only ~3-4 stories, so even top rooms may not fully clear the heavy Village tree canopy - expect to see only high finale bursts, not the full show. View is NOT guaranteed at booking; ask the desk for 'top floor, north/Greenfield Village side.' Best paired with actual Salute to America tickets (July 2-5, 2026). Show type: mixed.
Fairlane / Ford World HQ area (The Henry upper floors)
Low crowd · hotel room · Paid
FLAG: Dearborn's only true high-rise, the 14-story former Hyatt Regency / Edward Hotel (600 Town Center Dr), was condemned and CLOSED in 2018 - it is NOT available for viewing and any 'rooftop' access is off-limits. As a substitute elevated option, The Henry (Autograph Collection, 300 Town Center Dr) upper floors face SOUTH toward Greenfield Village ~1.2 mi away; request a high south-facing floor. View is distant and not guaranteed. Use for the Salute to America finale (July 2-5, 2026) or Homecoming (Aug 8-9). Show type: mixed.
