Show date: Saturday, July 4, 2026 ·
Show time: 12:undefined AM (dusk)
Cooperstown's Fire Department fireworks are launched over Otsego Lake ('Glimmerglass') from Fairy/Ferry Springs Park on the east shore, ~1 mile north of the village, at DUSK (concert by the Cooperstown Community Band at Lakefront Park ~8 p.m. first). NOTE: the exact 2026 date varies year to year (recent years have used dates around July 1–5 rather than strictly July 4) — confirm with the Cooperstown Chamber. The separate Glimmerglass State Park concert+fireworks at the lake's north end and the Springfield parade (11 a.m.) also anchor the holiday. Single-access Rt 28 gets congested; park in the village and walk.

Lakefront Park (end of Pioneer St)
High crowd · park · Free
The classic downtown vantage right on Otsego Lake — arrive early for the Community Band concert. Park anywhere in the village and walk in with chairs/blanket, and mind the meters (locals warn of parking tickets). Trees have grown over the years, so get a spot toward the open shoreline. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Otesaga Resort Hotel lawn
Medium crowd · park · Free
The rear lawn and golf course of the grand Otesaga is a Tripadvisor-recommended favorite ('Definitely from the rear lawn of the Otesaga Hotel') with a wide-open lake view toward the Fairy Springs launch. Best if you're a guest or dining there. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
Brookwood Point
Low crowd · park · Free
A quieter lakeside spot the Chamber's own marketing director lists as a favorite; being closer up the east shore toward the launch, it avoids the downtown crush. Locals say the very best view is from a boat on the lake — fireworks reflect off the water. Show type: unconfirmed — verify before attending.
